The national footpaths

The 25 national footpaths often have a particular theme and vary between 13 and 84 km in length. They are marked with yellow signs.

They do not form a loop and are ideally suited to carry out a walking tour in stages over several days, and they also can be combined.

The maps (FR/NL und DE/GB) can be ordered under the following phone number +352 42 82 82 20 or  by E-mail: info@visitluxembourg. Furthermore, all documents can be downloaded as PDF file.

Path of the minerworkers
PDF >>>

(29 km) Slopes covered by rich verdant woodland, tranquil valleys through which meander numerous streams, and the angular mounds formed by mining excavation characterise this region known as the Land of the Red Earth. This Miners' Path takes you past practically every place of interest or importance in the region, crossing the nature reserves which now extend over the former open-cast mines. It crosses a region which was once the most important industrial area in Luxembourg, and offers the walker some astonishing views over former mining developments and historic railway installations. It was here that the heart of a powerful steel industry once beat. But the noise of the factories has now gone, and Mother Nature has retaken what is rightfully hers.
