Population : 1250 inhabitants Altitude : 99 meters The commune of Bourscheid offers a wide number of viewpoints. Signposted walks link the various villages in the commune, some of which are located on hilltops and others on the banks of rivers and streams flowing through picturesque valleys.
Bourscheid 350 inh., like Kehmen 80 inh., Scheidel 20 inh., Schlindermanderscheid 120 inh. and Lipperscheid 180 inh. are situated on an open plateau. Michelau 300 inh., Goebelsmühle 20 inh. and Bourscheid-Moulin/Plage 14 inh. are on the river Sûre whilst Welscheid 150 inh. is by the Wark stream. The pluses of this tranquil community in the Luxembourg Ardennes are the 56% forested and typically Ardennes landscape, nature practically untouched and the ruins of the feudal castle at its heart, standing on a rocky outcrop 150 metres above the River Sûre, a first-class accommodation infrastructure and some fine restaurants.
Historic churches at Bourscheid (1765), Michelau (1792), Schlindermanderscheid (1751) and Welscheid (1874). Themed "Bunkerwanderung" pathway (15 km) to Schlindermanderscheid including a visit to a reconstructed "bunker" from the Second World War.
