Vianden City History Museum


Open from Easter to end of October from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Out of season closed on Monday, except public holidays.

Adults 2,50 €, adults in a group 2 €, children (3-14 years) 1,50 €, children in a group 1 €.

The Vianden City History Museum captures the exact image of 18th and 19th century interiors, tells history about the thousand-year old town and houses the bakery museum and the museum about the national poet Dicks.

Victor Hugo House - Literature Museum


Open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Monday.

Adults 4 €, juniors (13-25 years) 3,50 €, children (6-12 years) 2,50 €, adults in a group (min. 10 pers.) 3,50 €, juniors in a group 3 €, children in a group 2 €.

Set up in the restored mansion where the famous French poet and novelist lived, this museum exhibits the painting, texts and personal possessions of the author, who spent several months there in 1871 during his exile.

Trinitarian church and cloister


Open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m..

Built entirely in 1248, the church of the Trinitarians is one of the finest expressions of Gothic art in Luxembourg. The large choir was added in 1644. The main altar, made in 1758 in Rococo style, is the work of the artist Michel Weiler. Beside the church, the former cloister of the Trinitarians (1250). The recumbent effigy of Marie de Spanheim (approx. 1400) preserves the memory of the last descendant of the Counts of Vianden.

Museum of Caricature and Cartoons




The museum of Caricature and Cartoons presents the history of national and international caricature and the best of nowadays caricature. The museum welcomes an permanent exhibition, the "Salon International de Caricature et Cartoon" of Vianden and temporary exhibitions of luxembourg and foreign artists.
