 Exhibitions in Luxemborg

Luxexpo is a platform for contacts and promotion, characterized by its centralized geographical location, its accessibility, the flexibility of its infrastructure, the professionalism and heterogeneity of its team, a lot of ingredients combined to make your event a success!

Luxexpo's three areas of action are:
  • events organized directly by Luxexpo that are designed for the general public and/or professionals
  • events organized by third-party organizers
  • conference room and hall rental
The attention given to emerging sectors have led Luxexpo to consider many different formats of collaboration and to bring an innovative character to its activities, all of this, whilst still keeping the interests of the company, of Luxembourg, or of the Grande Région in mind.

With 33.000 m² of covered surface area and an international but particularly wide-ranging calendar, Luxexpo has become the most important center for exhibitions within the Grande Région.

Christmas market in Luxembourg city

The city of Luxembourg invites visitors to the ‘Winter Lights’ festival which is the central theme of a series of events brightening up winter in Luxembourg’s capital from 28th November 2008 to 4th January 2009.

To highlight the festive atmosphere at the end of the year, Luxembourg’s capital has been decorated with Christmas lights: more than 1,600m of lights with thousands of light bulbs now decorate the street lights, tree-lined streets and squares in the city

Luxembourg's multicultural markets boast a relaxed and European flavour, for example Stollen from Saxony and French Christmas log are all on sale side by side! Christmas carols in the Luxembourgish language (“An der grousser Hellger Nuecht”) will mix in with “Stille Nacht” in German, “White Christmas” in English and “Noël, Noël”.

The mixture of languages and spoken highlights defines the cosmopolitan nature of Luxembourg, a haven of human peace. Old and young alike will be delighted by the range of products on sale – handcrafted candles, heart-shaped gingerbread, toys, various Christmas tree decorations, greetings cards, CDs of Luxembourg Christmas carols and many charming gift ideas. And of course you can also try the tasty dishes and mulled wine (“Glühwein”) which are on offer.

Esch-sur-Alzette Christmas market

Another large Christmas market is organised in Place de la Resistance, around the Ecole du Brill and at the entrance to rue de l’Alzette in Esch-sur-Alzette, from 1 to 24 December.

Adults can warm up with a traditional mulled wine, served under canvas for those who feel the cold, and enjoy roasted chestnuts in the large chalet with seating for about a hundred, while various performances will keep the little ones amused.

Remember that the longest pedestrian precinct in the Grand Duchy, Rue de l’Alzette, is just a step away from the Christmas Market. A look through the windows is essential – here you will discover superb early-20th century façades.

Christmas market in Vianden

Vianden castle is probably the most remarkable site on which to organise a Christmas Market. “Instants de Noël – Magie de Noël” (Christmas Moments-Christmas Magic) – this is the theme of this Christmas Market inspired by the Middle Ages, which the largest feudal castle in the Eifel-Ardennes region is to organise on 17 and 18 December.

The various rooms, be it the vaulted cellar, the Riders’ stove, the arms room, the old kitchen, the dining room or the Knights’ hall, will lend their prestigious surroundings to the sale of Christmas gifts or delicious seasonal products.

In addition, there will be a live crèche. And medieval musical entertainment is sure to add to the festive atmosphere throughout these two outstanding days, when the fortress will open its doors until 7.00 pm (at other times, in winter, the castle is open from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, except on 25 December and 1 January).
