Michelin 2012: 12 stars for 11 restaurants in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg!

In the 2012 edition, the famous "Michelin guide" crowns 11 of Luxembourg’s gourmet restaurants with a total of 12 stars.

Restaurant "Mosconi" (chef: Ilario Mosconi) located in the "Grund" (UNESCO "World Heritage Site"), in the heart of the Old Town of Luxembourg City, is the only Italian restaurant outside Italy to have two Michelin stars.

The restaurants to have one Michelin star in the 2012 edition are: 

  • "Ma Langue Sourit", located in the village of Moutfort, halfway between the city of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Wine Road
  • "Toit pour toi" in Schouweiler,
  • "Lea Linster" (winner of the "Golden Bocuse Culinary Award" in 1989) in Frisange,
  • "Clairefontaine" and "Le Bouquet Garni" in Luxembourg,
  • "Le Patin d'Or" in Kockelscheuer,
  • "La Gaichel" in Gaichel (near Eischen),
  • "Les Roses" at the Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains,
  • "Favaro" (Renato Favaro) in Esch-sur-Alzette,
  • as well as "Distillerie" in Bourglinster.
