1350^th anniversary of the birth of Saint Willibrord

In 2008, the town of Echternach will celebrate the 1350th anniversary of the birth of Saint Willibrord, the only saint buried on Luxembourg soil. The package programme was created in honour of this extraordinary figure.

Friday, 30 May

Arrival during the afternoon at the hotel of your choice. Welcome drink provided by hotel.
Dinner at hotel.

Saturday, 31 May

From 10 to 12 a.m.: "In the steps of Saint Willibrord", guided visit of the town of Echternach and the new documentation centre. Departure at 10 a.m. from outside the Basilique.
Lunch: free time
From 2.30 to 5 p.m.: Walk with walking guide over part of the "Mullerthal Trail" (www.mullerthal-trail.lu), our major new trail. Meet at the Echternach bus station.
Dinner at hotel.

Alternatively:

From 2.30 to 3.30 p.m.: guided visit of the Museum of the Abbey with the extremely beautiful works in the scriptorium of the ancient abbey and a large section on life in the time of Saint-Willibrord.
Visit to the Philatelic circle’s exhibition in the Echternach cultural centre.

Sunday, 1 June

Open Basilica Day

From 4 to 5 p.m.: Concert by Schola Misericordias
From 5 to 6 p.m.: spiritual visit of the Basilique (with the saint’s tomb)
